Mastery #1 Choice For Tanking?

how effective is mastery? would it be better to reforge all to dodge instead
Other way around.
explain? lol because my question says dodge but title says mastery
The mastery is extremely good. He is saying to reforge Dodge to Mastery, not Mastery to Dodge.
Right before I reforged, i was at 9.8% Dodge and 14.3% Parry. I reforged Parry -> Mastery and, wherever I could, reforged Crit/Haste -> Dodge to even them out. If a piece had Parry + Mastery, I reforged to Dodge.

Yes, Mastery is the ideal stat to reforge to after you have your Hit/Expertise to a comfortable place.
now the question is... whats better? dodge or parry? or does it just depend on which ever one you have more of u stack on that?
I don't know that one is better than the other. They have the same DR, so it only makes sense to keep them even (regardless of the fact that we're nowhere near the DR in current gear).

I was under the impression that they changed the mechanic of Parry-Haste for the player. Perhaps I'm wrong.
Between dodge and parry, get whatever you have less of
technically, they are both the same, but we have talents that help us when it comes to parry so if you aren't going to reforge all your gear to mastery, you'll want parry.
I learned something new. Thanks ill make sure to reforge to reflect that.
Where are these talents that help Parry? O_o
I believe he is referring to DRW
DRW is a static 20% regardless of how much parry you have, that in no way helps or have any synergy with your parry rating.
Unless the mechanic has changed, upon parry there is an automatic, auto-attack.

Assuming this mechanic is still valid:

So from a threat generation a parry is avoidance + threat generation.

Parry didn't give an automatic white attack; it simply sped up your next white attack. I don't believe this mechanic is still in game for players, so likely irrelevant.

And, yes, DRW does benefit from you having more parry (and dodge, for that matter). 20% parry is more valuable when you have, say, 50% parry+dodge to start it with as compared to, say, 30% to start off with. In the first scenario, the CD is basically reducing damage by 40%, while in the second it's only doing so by 29%. Not really relevant, however, to parry/dodge's relationship to one another, since they both would make the ability stronger.

But, yeah, parry and dodge are identical, save for whatever you have more of being less valuable. Mastery for life!
This makes me sad that Mastery is so bad for unholy :(
