Masteries

I was wondering. I'm DSed frost/blood and right now in quest greens. Are the masteries worth it?
For forst yes it is worth it, for blood dunno, but i guess it is, only sucks for unholy atm, and truth be told, you dont have much of an option on the cata gear from quests and drops it all has lots of mastery and it isn't worth it to reforge it, just hit 85, then worry about the stats.
Yes for both frost and unholy. Blood Dks have pretty low avoidance in general and stacking mastery will help mitigate a lot of the incoming damage.
No, totally not worth it. Don't even learn Mastery, it's a waste of your gold.
Real answer: Mastery is the most desired secondary stat by both blood and *frost DK's.

For unholy, the most desired secondary stat is haste. Mastery falls by the wayside. This is likely/possibly changing in patch 4.0.6 as the unholy mastery is getting a complete overhaul changing from increasing disease damage to increasing shadow damage (i.e. death coil and scourge strike). We'll see how things play out then, for now... if you're unholy, mastery is on the red-headed step-child list.

*I should note that 2H Frost still values haste over mastery.
